Meet the PB Youth Committee Team

Jess Cohen: Co-Chair, Events Coordinator

​

Jess joined PB Youth in 2016. She is a junior at Edward R. Murrow High School and a resident of Park Slope. Jess loves chocolate, hugs, and arts and crafts!

Anastasia Leahy: Co-Chair, Community Outreach Director

​

Anastasia Leahy joined PB Youth in 2017. She is a sophomore at Edward R. Murrow High School, and lives in Carroll Gardens. She spends most of her time engaging in political debates and listening to Tyler, the Creator.

Silas Gaughran-Bedell: CORO Fellow

​

Silas joined PB Youth in 2019 as a part of the PB Youth Fellowship Program at CORO. Silas lives in Kensington, and attends Midwood High School. He plays baseball and enjoys eating steak and tacos very much! Silas is interested in politics and social justice issues.

Lily Cohen: PB Youth Member

​

Lily is 16 years old and a resident of South Slope. She found out about PB through her friend, Jess, one of our Co-Chairs of PB Youth! She is an artist and musician. Lily is the current social media manager and grapher designer for PB Youth. She enjoys dying her hair and playing with her cat.

Simon Fisher: PB Youth Member

​

Simon is 12 years old and a seventh grader at MS 51. A friend of Simon told him about PB Youth, and it inspired him to join the group! Simon is very interested in politics and local democracy.

Zoe Alperin: PB Youth Member

​

Zoe Alperin is a seventh grader at MS 442. She found out about PB in fourth grade, when her brother's school had a project on the ballot, and she helped present it at the PB Expo. Zoe values PB because it provides an opportunity for her voice to be heard. She loves dance, acting and politics. Her dream job is to be Speaker of the House.

Owen Hassler: PB Youth Member

​

Owen found at about PB through Jess, who is also on the committee. He enjoys PB because it allows young people to be involved in their neighborhoods in a way they otherwise wouldn't be able to. Owen is a junior at Xavier High School. He likes running on his school's track team and making art. Owen designs flyers for PB Events.

Max Elinson: Co-Chair, Head of Digital Media 

​

Max is the newest member of the PB Youth Leadership Team. He joined in 2018 and has attended meetings ever since. Max is currently a Junior at The Beacon School and lives in Kensington. He is the most talented runner in PB!

Sadie Lee: Co-Chair, District Committee Liason

​

Sadie joined PB Youth in 2017. She is a sophomore at The Beacon School and is a resident of Park Slope. She specializes in communication and loves to dance.

Mae Benne: PB Youth Member

​

Mae loves that PB provides a voice in local projects that is very accessible and gives young kids a chance to engage in voting and local politics. She enjoys playing basketball and listening to music.

Saul Ferholt-Kahn: PB Youth Member

​

Saul is 14 years old, and attends the Institute for Collaborative Education. He loves that PB allows district members to have power over how their councilmember spends the district's money. He is involved in local politics and loves eating good food!

Stella Tanner: PB Youth Member

​

Stella was introduced to PB Youth when members came to her Middle School and gave a presentation. Stella is a sophomore at Edward R. Murrow High School. She is interested in writing, music, and law.

Becca Davis: PB Youth Member

​

Becca lives in Park Slope, and goes to Saint Ann's. She likes PB because it allows many people to participate in local democracy and have an impact in their neighborhood now matter how old they are. Becca enjoys doing Model UN and Model Congress. She is a fan of eating chocolate and playing soccer!

Hannah Epstein: PB Youth Member

 

Hannah learned about PB through her friend Anastasia, who is a Co-Chair of the group. She values PB because it gives a voice to young people and helps engage teens in their community. Hannah is a sophomore at Edward R. Murrow High School. She enjoys listening to Chet Baker and eating hamburgers.
